Following several previous successful and well-received concerts at St Saviour’s, the Guernsey Music Centre Youth Orchestra and string chamber groups are delighted to return to the concert series for an evening of string music ranging from Bach to Rachmaninov. As part of their programme, the Chamber Orchestra will be performing works by Hasse, Bach, Beethoven and Telemann and will feature soloists on oboe, violin, viola and cello. They will also be joined by visiting musicians from Sinfonia Smith Square who will be playing with the orchestra.

Under their musical director, Martha, they blend distinct vocal styles into an uplifting authentic African rhythmic soundscape with their gospel and African songs. They often entertain at the Community Centre and welcome this chance to reach a wider audience; their vision is to use music as a powerful force to spread love, peace and unity.

]]> https://stsaviourschurch.org:443/572/Praizappella-15th-May Bonamy Martel & Thomas Carroll 25th July stsaviourschurch_42140 Fri, 01 Jul 2022 11:10:04 +0100 Returning for a third year after their knockout concert last summer -  An Evening of Violin Favourites performed by locally-born Bonamy Martel with piano accompaniment from guest artist Thomas Carroll. These highly skilled musicians, from Vienna and Cologne respectively, come together in a return concert to thrill us with classical and film music favourites. Bon introduces each item in an informal and relaxed style with anecdotes and background notes. Bon was trained at the Yehudi Menuhin School where he first met Thomas, now a conductor, pianist and world class cellist. This performance will again be in aid of The Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief.
