Kintsugi Singers 26th May
Kintsugi Singers are an inclusive community choir under the musical direction of Andrew Warren who have a varied repertoire of popular songs. Kintsugi Singers are a very diverse group of all ages from many different backgrounds but to us music is our gold resin that binds us and we live to share our love of music.
Kintsugi 金継ぎ (roughly translates as joining with gold) is the centuries old Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic and porcelain by mending the areas broken with gold resin to make something beautiful. They call this the poetic mend. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
Start time: 7:30pm
No tickets required. Selection of free refreshments will be available in the interval, sponsored by Ravenscroft. Proceeds of the retiring collection will go to the St Saviour's Church and the Kintsugi Singers.
