Singing from the Heart Community Choir 15th March

The choir was formed by musician Glenn Drake in January 2019 and currently
has over 55 members. Glenn ‘runs’ the choir and is its accompanist.

The choir has been extremely lucky to welcome Sarah Dempster as its new
vocal coach and conductor for a little over 6 months now. Sarah is an
experienced musician/singer/vocal coach and is very much taking the choir
forward vocally.
The choir sings a wide range of songs from the Beatles to Abba – from Elvis to
Les Misérables – The Rose to the music from the Greatest Showman. The choir
performs at a number of events and concerts each year and regularly shares it
music at local residential and nursing homes.
The choir meets once a week on a Tuesday evening at the Forest Methodist
Church… a time for singing, hard work, fun & laughter with a break for tea and
coffee and a chat. A community choir where friendship and support is very
important. It is not a ‘sing a long’ choir - the choir sings in up to 4 parts – no
audition is necessary and an ability to read music is not required – just the love
of ‘singing from the heart’ in a community choir.

The choir is very much looking forward to presenting its first concert of the
year at St Saviour’s Church as part of the 2024 concert series programme.
